Stars pour into town for 500 fun

Hollywood arrived in Indianapolis on Friday evening when celebrities rolled up in buses and SUVs and walked through the front doors of The Conrad, where they are setting up shop for the Indianapolis 500 weekend.
Actor Nathan Fillion, the star of TV's "Castle" and formerly of "Firefly," showed up on a bus along with 15 or 20 others, including Ron Perlman of "Hellboy."
A few minutes later, two SUVs arrived with "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star Kim Kardashian and her family members, including stepfather and Olympian Bruce Jenner. The Kardashians are reportedly filming part of their reality series here this weekend.
Then another SUV carrying director and actor Mark Wahlberg and some golf bags arrived. Wahlberg is hosting a fancy golf tournament today at the Brickyard Crossing.
As celebs sometimes do, they stopped to sign a few autographs for fans before heading to their rooms in the elegant Downtown hotel.
Later, Wahlberg, Jenner and his wife, Kris Jenner, who is also Kim and her sister Kourtney Kardashian's mother, dropped in with other stars at the Indianapolis Museum of Art for the first of several Izod IndyCar Series-sponsored events.
The soiree at the IMA -- called the "Football and Racing Legends Party" -- featured a red carpet for stars to be photographed outside and chic hors d'oeuvres options inside, including salmon rolled and placed on a stick so it looked like rows of lollipops on the platter. On a patio, modern white furnishings were near a cigar and scotch bar for guests to indulge.
Friday's Izod IndyCar event is only the beginning for the celebrity contingent. Before all is said and done this weekend, they are expected to be out and about all over Indy.
Their schedule includes everything from Wahlberg's golf outing to a Vanity Fair soiree Downtown tonight. Three-time Academy Award-winner Jack Nicholson will add major A-list star power to race weekend when he waves the green flag at the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday.
Party planners also are including spots for two-time Olympian and 2010 bobsledding gold medalist Steven Holcomb, actors Jeremy Renner and Brian Geraghty of "The Hurt Locker" and Adrian Grenier of the hit HBO series "Entourage," as well as others, at parties this weekend.
