SAN JUAN -- Actores y actrices de afamadas series televisivas estadounidenses acompañarán a la puertorriqueña Roselyn Sánchez en un evento deportivo de triatlón y el dinero que se recoja será para instituciones que atienden a pacientes de cáncer y una casa de adopción.
Acompañada por su esposo, el actor Erick Winter, la artista indicó que correrá el "Roselyn Sánchez Triathlon For Life", que se celebrará el 21 de marzo a beneficio de la San Jorge Children's Foundation, de la que es madrina, y del centro de adopción Casa Cuna de San Juan.
"Yo voy a participar en el relevo, la corrida del final. Me hice una promesa, ojalá se me dé: si Dereck está saludable, si Dios lo permite y se da el milagro de que esté con nosotros en marzo, hago el circuito completo (natación, bicicleta y maratón)", declaró Sánchez el viernes en una rueda de prensa en San Juan.
Explicó que Dereck es un paciente de cáncer al que le hicieron una operación de médula y "ha estado bien y recae, pero está vivo y estamos orando por él", dijo la actriz.
Adelantó que ya le confirmaron su participación en el evento Eva Longoria-Parker ("Desperate Housewives"), Amaury Nolasco ("Prison Break"), Jennifer Morrison ("House"), Enrique Murciano, Eric Close y Poppy Montgomery ("Without a Trace"). También estarán presentes Adam Rodríguez ("CSI: Miami" y "Ugly Betty") y Cristián de la Fuente ("Dancing with the Stars" y "Viva el sueño").
En otros temas, indicó que tras el fin de la serie "Without a Trace", en la que interpretaba a la agente Elena Delgado, se dedicará a la producción tal y como lo hizo con su película "Yellow".
"Estoy contenta, estudiando a ver si quiero hacer televisión, si quiero hacer nada más que cine, (pero creo que) ahora que estoy casada y quiero hacer familia prontito, lo más factible sería hacer un programa de televisión en Los Angeles, cosa de trabajar y regresar a mi casa", dijo Sánchez, quien en enero anunciará los pasos a seguir en su carrera.
En cuanto a tener familia, agregó: "Estamos practicando, pero no sé, cuando Dios quiera".

Roselyn Sánchez llegó al País, para dar detalles de la primera edición del “Triathlon for Life”, evento que se llevará a cabo el 21 de marzo de 2010 a beneficio de la organización San Jorge Children's Foundation y la Casa Cuna de San Juan.
La actriz ya está reclutando a amigos suyos, que también son estrellas de Hollywood, para que respalden la iniciativa. Hasta el momento se han comprometido figuras como Amaury Nolasco y su novia Jennifer Morrison, Cristian de la Fuente, Adam Rodríguez y Eva Longoria.
La actividad se llevará a cabo en la Laguna del Condado, otros lugares de dicha área y en el Viejo San Juan.
Durante la conferencia de prensa Sánchez estuvo acompañada por su esposo, el actor estadounidense Eric Winter y su madre, Olga Rodríguez.

¡Bien feliz y supercontenta! De esta manera, la actriz y modelo Roselyn Sánchez, describió su sentir al anunciar que el próximo año realizará el “Roselyn Sanchez Triathlon For Life”, un “triatlón benéfico” con el propósito de recaudar fondos para los niños del San Jorge Children’s Foundation y La Casa Cuna de San Juan.
Según relató la también portavoz de la Fundación, la iniciativa surgió “pensando un día en Dereck”. Dereck es uno de los niñitos de la Fundación que padece de cáncer, que fue operado de médula, y actualmente está recibiendo tratamiento médico en Tennessee, “pues tiene sus altas y sus bajas”.
“Pensando en Dereck y en todos estos niñitos, yo dije: tengo que correr. Tengo que hacer algo grande para recaudar fondos”, explicó emocionada Sánchez en rueda de prensa, quien incitó a que “todo el mundo se una a este gran esfuerzo, que combinará los deportes, la salud y el entretenimiento, para ayudarles a devolverles la salud y la felicidad a ellos y a sus familiares”.

En otros temas y a preguntas de la prensa, la actriz sostuvo entre risas que “se encuentra practicando”, pues desea convertirse en mamá cuando llegue el momento.
Roselyn permanecerá en la Isla junto a su esposo Eric Winter para celebrar el Día de Acción de Gracias y el próximo 29 de noviembre, celebrará su primer año de matrimonio.

Angkor Hospital For Children, Cambodia
Yes it's true, just last month posted about Angkor Hospital for Children, but I'm posting again for two reasons. First, because their 2008 Annual Report just came out, full of images that I captured while shooting their story for Town and Country Magazine earlier this year.
And secondly, because Friends Without a Border is having a Photography related charity event in Los Angeles this month which benefits the Angkor Hospital for Children! As you may remember from the article in Town and Country or my earlier posts, The Angkor Hospital for Children was started by photographer Kenro Izu.

'House' alum news: Jennifer Morrison heads to Broadway!
Jennifer Morrison is Broadway-bound.
A month after checking out of House, the actress has joined the forthcoming revival of William Gibson’s The Miracle Worker. The play focuses on the relationship between a young Helen Keller (played here by Abigail Breslin) and the teacher who taught her to communicate (In Treatment’s Alison Pill)..
Matthew Modine rounds out the all-star revival.
Morrison’s participation all but rules out a return to House later this season since Miracle Worker begins previews in February and runs at least through the spring.

Sometimes living well is the best revenge. Jennifer Morrison, whose departure from the Fox series “House” this year set off protests from frustrated fans of that medical drama, has found her next gig. Instead of returning to the fictional Princeton‑Plainsboro Teaching Hospital, she’ll be making her Broadway debut. The producers of the coming Broadway revival of “The Miracle Worker” said that Ms. Morrison would join its cast as Helen Keller’s mother, Kate. Also coming onto the show are Matthew Modine (“Full Metal Jacket”), who will play Captain Keller, and Elizabeth Franz (a Tony Award-winner for “Death of a Salesmen”), who will play Aunt Ev.
The new Broadway production of “The Miracle Worker” will star Abigail Breslin as Helen Keller and Alison Pill as Annie Sullivan, and will be directed by Kate Whoriskey (”Ruined”). It is scheduled to begin previews at Circle in the Square Theater on Feb. 12 and open on March 3.

Former House star Jennifer Morrison. stage and screen star Matthew Modine, and Tony Award winner Elizabeth Franz will join Academy Award nominee Abigail Breslin and Tony Award nominee Alison Pill in the Broadway revival of William Gibson's Tony Award-winning play The Miracle Worker, according to published reports.
The show, which is set to begin performances on February 12 at Broadway's Circle in the Square Theater and open on March 3, will be directed by Kate Whoriskey.
The work, which debuted on Broadway in 1959, tells the real-life story of Helen Keller, who was born blind and deaf, and Annie Sullivan, the teacher who taught Keller to communicate with the world.
