This is the first article I've read that also mentions AN's show as a possible pick-up. We'll see...

Primetime Pilot Panic: ABC & CBS Updates

    By NELLIE ANDREEVA | Friday May 13, 2011 @ 12:15am PDT

With Fox done with its series orders and NBC pretty much done too, attention is focusing on ABC and CBS. ABC is expected to make its series pickups tomorrow. Here is the latest buzz on the two networks:

    ABC

Assured to get series orders are early frontrunners GOOD CHRISTIAN BITCHES and CHARLIE'S ANGELS, along with the modern fairy tale ONCE UPON A TIME. Shonda Rhimes' PR drama SCANDAL looks solid, with one or both of PAN AM and procedural IDENTITY also expected to get a green light. Thriller THE RIVER is rumored for an order, though it's unclear if it will be a regular or limited-series one. Other possibilities on the drama side include the Hamptons-set REVENGE, which has been gathering momentum, and Marc Cherry's HALLELUJAH, possibly for midseason with some retooling, while 1840s detective show POE has been fading.

On the comedy side, the TIM ALLEN pilot, APT. 23 and SUBURGATORY are considered a go, with SMOTHERED, WORK IT and BAD MOM as possibilities.

    CBS

With CBS' most guarded secret -- who will replace Charlie Sheen -- out, a lot of the intrigue surrounding CBS' presentation next week is gone. Luckily, we still have series pickups and schedule to try to figure out. On the drama side, the rise of the J.J. Abrams/Jonah Nolan crime drama PERSON OF INTEREST remains in what is considered a frontrunner status. Ensemble cop drama ROOKIES and procedural THE REMEMBERER also appear strong. PI show HAIL MARY, starring Mini Driver, is still a possibility, with the Sarah Michelle Gellar Lottie and Lisa-style mystery RINGER a dark horse. Meanwhile, early frontrunner SUSANNAH GRANT has been losing momentum.

On the comedy side, with Michael Patrick King available after NBC passes on A Mann's World, his hot comedy pilot with Whitney Cummings TWO BROKE GIRL, which had faced uncertainty after NBC picked up Cummings' comedy pilot, should be able to return to frontrunner status alongside HOW TO BE A GENTLEMAN.

And at CW, THE SECRET CIRCLE and HART OF DIXIE continue to be the clear frontrunners.

Fairy tales come alive on ABC this fall with 'Once Upon A Time'

NBC has Grimm, a new take on a cop drama featuring the fairy tale characters and creatures from our beloved (and somewhat feared) childhood books, and now ABC is adding to the fall television mix Once Upon A Time, LOST alumni Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz' take on fairy tales.

Well, if it comes from those minds, it has to be interesting, right?

Once Upon A Time follows a woman in small town (Storybook-- get it?) Maine discovering fairy tales may be real there. They even have a version of Snow White, played by Big Love's Ginnifer Goodwin and an Evil Queen (Lana Parrilla). The Evil Queen, of course, places this version of Snow White (named Sister Mary Margaret in the pilot) under a spell that requires a Prince Charming to bring her back to life. Jennifer Morrison also stars.

ABC Renews Happy Endings and Body of Proof, Orders 12 New Series Including Charlie's Angels

Amid ABC’s spring house cleaning comes a bit of good news: Freshman comedy Happy Endings has been picked up for a second season. Promising rookie procedural Body of Proof has also been renewed.
The network, meanwhile, has given the green light to a whopping 12 new series — seven dramas and five comedies.
Comedy pick-ups include the Tim Allen-fronted Last Man Standing, the cross-dressing sitcom Work It, and the Big Apple-set Apt. 23.
New dramas include Good Christian Belles (f.k.a. Good Christian Bitches), a reboot of Charlie’s Angeles, the fairytale-themed Once Upon a Time, period soap Pan Am and the Shonda Rhimes-produced hour about political consultants Scandal.

This is wonderful news, and I am so happy for Jennifer. :D

I've learned a lot through this process about how hard it is to create and bring a show to television. Probably the toughest hurdle is the one that comes next: how to attract and keep the attention of the very fickle American television audience.

I wonder if OUAT will be in the fall lineup, or midseason?

Fingers, and toes, are still crossed that this will be a big hit. :clapper:

    CITAZIONE
ONCE UPON A TIME: Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz ("Lost," "Tron") invite you to a bold new vision of the world where fairytales and the modern day are about to collide. Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison) knows how to take care of herself. She's a 28-year-old bail bonds collector who's been on her own ever since she was abandoned as a baby. But when the son she gave up years ago finds her, everything will change. Henry (Jared Gilmore) is 10 years old now and in desperate need of Emma's help. Henry believes that Emma actually comes from an alternate world ... and is Prince Charming (Josh Dallas) and Snow White's (Ginnifer Goodwin) missing daughter. According to his book of fairytales, they sent her away to protect her from the Evil Queen's (Lana Parilla) curse, which trapped the fairytale world forever, frozen in time. Of course Emma doesn't believe a word, but when she brings Henry back to Storybrooke, she finds herself drawn to this unusual boy and his strange New England town. Concerned for Henry, she decides to stay for a while, but she soon suspects that Storybrooke is more than it seems. It's a place where magic has been forgotten, but is still powerfully close ... where fairytale characters are alive, even though they don't remember who they once were - including the Evil Queen who is now Henry's foster mother. The epic battle for the future of all worlds is beginning, but for good to win, Emma will have to accept her destiny and fight like hell. Brace yourself for a modern fable with thrilling twists and hints of darkness. Brimming with wonder, and filled with the magic of our most beloved fairytales, "Once Upon A Time" is a fitting follow up to "Lost" from two master storytellers.

    QUOTE
    “ONCE UPON A TIME”

From the inventive minds of “Lost” executive producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis comes a bold new imagining of the world, where fairy tales and the modern-day are about to collide.

And they all lived happily ever after – or so everyone was led to believe. Emma Swan knows how to take care of herself. She’s a 28-year-old bail bonds collector who’s been on her own ever since she was abandoned as a baby. But when the son she gave up years ago finds her, everything starts to change. Henry is now 10 years old and in desperate need of Emma’s help. He believes that Emma actually comes from an alternate world and is Snow White and Prince Charming’s missing daughter. According to his book of fairytales, they sent her away to protect her from the Evil Queen’s curse, which trapped the fairytale world forever, frozen in time, and brought them into our modern world. Of course Emma doesn’t believe a word, but when she brings Henry back to Storybrooke, she finds herself drawn to this unusual boy and his strange New England town. Concerned for Henry, she decides to stay for a while, but she soon suspects that Storybrooke is more than it seems. It’s a place where magic has been forgotten, but is still powerfully close… where fairytale characters are alive, even though they don’t remember who they once were. The epic battle for the future of all worlds is beginning, but for good to win, Emma will have to accept her destiny and fight like hell.

“Once Upon a Time” stars Ginnifer Goodwin (“Big Love”) as Snow White/Sister Mary Margaret, Jennifer Morrison (“House MD”) as Emma Swan, Robert Carlyle (“The Full Monty,” “Trainspotting,” “SGU Stargate Universe”) as Rumplestiltskin/Mr. Gold, Lana Parrilla as Evil Queen/Regina, Jamie Dornan as Sheriff Graham, Jared Gilmore (“Mad Men”) as Henry, Josh Dallas as Prince Charming/John Doe and Raphael Sbarge as Jiminy Cricket/Archie.

“Once Upon a Time” was written by Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, who are also executive producers, along with Steve Pearlman (ABC’s “V”). The pilot is directed and executive-produced by Mark Mylod (“Entourage”). “Once Upon a Time” is from ABC Studios.

Lana Parrilla is going to be awesome on this show...love her and her character already!

In a somewhat unrelated note, it's weird to me that ABC announced both its new fall shows AND the shows that will replace those midseason when they bomb, at the same time. Not a lot of faith, huh ABC?
