Once Upon a Time - Episode 2.12 - In the Name of the Brother - Press Release

    CITAZIONE

AFRAID THAT THE STRANGER MAY HAVE SEEN MAGIC BEFORE HIS ACCIDENT,
SOME OF THE STORYBROOKE RESIDENTS WANT DR. WHALE TO LET HIM DIE
SO THAT HE CANNOT EXPOSE THEIR TRUE IDENTITIES TO THE WORLD,
AND VICTOR TRIES TO PROVE TO HIS FATHER THAT HE CAN
BRING BACK THE DEAD, ON ABC'S "ONCE UPON A TIME"

"In the Name of the Brother" - Dr. Whale is tasked with mending Hook's wounds and performing surgery on the stranger whose car crashed upon entering Storybrooke. But some of the townspeople fear that the stranger may have seen magic -- which could expose their true identities to the world -- and think that leaving him to die would be the best solution. Meanwhile, as Mr. Gold tries to reunite with a despondent Belle, Cora attempts to reunite with daughter Regina; and in the land that was, Victor desperately wants to prove to his disapproving father that he can, indeed, bring back the dead, on "Once Upon a Time," SUNDAY, JANUARY 20 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

"Once Upon a Time" stars Ginnifer Goodwin as Snow White/Mary Margaret, Jennifer Morrison as Emma Swan, Lana Parrilla as Evil Queen/Regina, Josh Dallas as Prince Charming/David, Emilie de Ravin as Belle, Jared S. Gilmore as Henry Mills, Meghan Ory as Red Riding Hood/Ruby, and Robert Carlyle as Rumplestiltskin/Mr. Gold.

Guest starring are Lee Arenberg as Leroy/Grumpy, David Anders as Dr. Whale/Victor, Barbara Hershey as Cora, Colin O'Donoghue as Hook, Ethan Embry as stranger, Nelson Wong as paramedic no. 1, Janet Pinnick as nurse no. 1, Gregory Itzin as Alphonse, Chad Michael Collins as Gerhardt, Yurij Kis as Igor, Ian Harmon as sentry and Scott McAdam as orderly.

"In the Name of the Brother" was written by Jane Espenson and directed by Milan Cheylov.

"Once Upon a Time" is broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC's selected HDTV format with a 5.1 channel surround sound. A TV parental guideline will be assigned closer to the airdate.

TV Ratings Sunday (Updated): 'Once Upon A Time' & 'Revenge' Fall, Special 'Hawaii Five-0' Strong as Football Sacks the Competition

    Written By Sara Bibel

    January 21st, 2013

    CITAZIONE
On CBS, NFL Football: Ravens at Patriots scored a preliminary 14.6 adults 18-49 rating from 7-10PM. Update: A special episode of Hawaii Five-0 earned a Time-Zone Adjusted Fast National 3.4 adults 18-49 rating. This number is unlikely to change significantly in the finals. Check the finals, which probably will not be available until Wednesday this week due to the MLK holiday, for accurate football numbers.

On ABC, America's Funniest Home Videos garnered a 1.3 adults 18-49 rating down 7% from last week's 1.4. Once Upon A Time earned a season low 2.4, down 14% from last week's 2.8 adults 18-49 rating. Your predictions were too optimistic. Revenge scored a season low 1.7 among adults 18-49 down 15% from last week’s 2.0.

Thank you, Aleki, for being the faithful, responsible messenger on this, even though the results are unsettling. Perhaps the only positive evaluation coming from these dismal numbers is that most of the other shows on Sunday night suffered a similar fate. Football playoffs are still king on American television, and this time it was Hawaii Five oh-no that reaped the benefit.

While there is ample discussion through the various Internet channels on the artistic merits of In the Name of the Brother, I don't detect much comment about the rather alarming drop in OUAT viewers over the past two episodes. I fervently hope that this isn't a trend, and that the eagerly-awaited episodes 13 and 14 will see a robust uptick in the ratings. ^_^

    Saludos, tiuchis,
I hope that you're right about the football overlap, and the Golden Globes opposition from the week before. OUAT has had to put up with stiff competition, but it seemed to hold up better against those heavy-hitters in the first season.

As for Emma and her magic -- I think that it stems from her role of being the savior, the curse-breaker and the fact that she is the product of "twu wuv," as Rumpelstiltskin would call it. And, yes, I am also getting anxious for the next episodes. Question: if Neal really is Rumpel's long lost son, Bae, does that make Henry the illegitimate grandson of Rumpel/Mr. Gold, by some weird connection?
