TV Ratings Sunday: 'Once Upon a Time' Holds Up; 'Allen Gregory' Debuts Weakly

    October 31st, 2011

Happy Halloween! We don't need to wait for the finals to know that the Eagles 34-7 rout over the Cowboys on Sunday Night Football will lead NBC to a nightly win.

In its second week, Once Upon A Time held up well, falling only a tenth from last week's premiere to a 3.9 adults 18-49 rating. Desperate Housewives was up a tenth to a 3.1 adults 18-49 rating and Pan Am was also up a tenth to a 1.9 adults 18-49 rating.

The annual 'Treehouse of Horrors' installment of The Simpsons scored a 4.0 adults 18-49 rating up 33% from its last original, but even that wasn't enough cover for newcomer Allen Gregory which debuted with a 2.4 adults 18-49 rating following The Simpsons. Predictions were too high in the 'guess the ratings' poll with ~60% predicting better than a 2.5. Family Guy dropped 9% from its last original to 3.2 adults 18-49 rating. At 9:30, The Cleveland Show drew a 2.3 adults 18-49 rating.

We'll need to wait for the finals tomorrow morning as far as CBS' numbers, but the preliminary hour totals are included below.

TV ratings: 'Once Upon a Time' holds up well Sunday, Eagles-Cowboys leads night

    October 31, 2011 12:07 PM ET
Fast national ratings for Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011

ABC got encouraging second-week ratings from "Once Upon a Time" Sunday. The new drama fell a little in total viewers from its premiere but matched its solid adults 18-49 rating. The news wasn't as good for "Allen Gregory": FOX's new animated series debuted to somewhat soft ratings, despite a better-than-usual "Simpsons" lead-in.

NBC averaged 16.8 million viewers and a 10.1 rating/16 share in households to lead Sunday night, beating out the 14.5 million viewers and 9.1/14 for CBS. Both networks were affected by live NFL coverage, so their numbers will change some. ABC (7.9 million, 5.0/8) came in third. FOX trailed with 5.6 million viewers and a 3.2/5.

NBC dominated the adults 18-49 demographic with a 6.7 rating, finishing three points ahead of No. 2 CBS (3.7). FOX scored a 2.7 in the demo to beat out ABC (2.5) for third place.
