It's very cold in Australia I read. There are so many cool reports on both tumblr and twitter, JMo was amazing.

On a side note… The other times I’ve gotten photos with celebrities at conventions it’s always been the standard smile, quick hello and then the photo was taken and that was that.

But Jen greeted every single person like she was utterly delighted to see them. She had this huge smile when she greeted me and she actually talked to me and was just really enthusiastic and when the girl in front of me started crying she gave her a huge hug. She just seems to go above and beyond what is required of her and she really appreciates every single one of her fans. And I love her for that.

I was hoping to transcribe the recording I made of Jen’s panel today (Sat 05 July 2014) at Oz Comic Con in Melbourne. I’m really sorry about this, guys, but the words are just to hard to make out. I’m missing about every third word and often whole sentences are just a jumble of sounds. It was a really hard panel to hear even being in the room - the sound system was really echo-y. Hopefully tomorrow they’ll have someone there who will be able to make it work properly.

I really hope that someone will have been able to sneakily make a better video recording of it that you can hear better, or that someone will upload the panel from the Con’s official dvd after that gets sent out.

Just a couple of moments that stood out to me:

Jen had a lot of great and interesting things to say about the background she used for Emma’s character. She read a bunch of memoirs and stories from people who had gone through the foster system. One thing that stood out was that many of them had periods of being starved. Because of that, Emma has an interesting relationship with food. She said, “It’s subtle, but it’s there.”

She mentioned she loved the Princess Bride when she was younger and loved Princess Buttercup. She said that the first time Hook said ‘as you wish’, Emma might not have caught that as something meaningful but Jen was having her own Princess Buttercup fulfillment moment.

Because of her work on House she’s now able to tell that she’s not dying more often. She’s also been able to correctly guess a few illnesses of her own and others, such as appendicitis and ovarian cysts.

Some her funniest moments on set were when she was working with both Colin O’Donoghue and Michael Raymond-James at the same time. She said they were so funny together that she often was laughing so hard her stomach hurt and she’d just try to make it through a take without laughing. And there was just a lot of not being able to breathe.

Those are all I can remember right now. If I remember any more I’ll let you know :D
