    Save the Alpacas!

There's a new play coming to The Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles. It's called "Save the Alpacas" and stars Matthew Modine, Peri Gilpin and French Stewart. One of my WeHo SnB friends, Debra, was wearing the t-shirt at our weekly meeting. Of course, being knitters and crocheters, we all asked about the logo. Debra explained about the play.....(from the website): Matthew Modine stars as Matthew Modine in Matthew Modine Saves the Alpacas, the world premiere of this rollicking satire that parodies celebrity humanitarianism, Hollywood and hand sanitizer. Eighties heartthrob Matthew Modine was ‘A-List’ all the way. But now, a couple decades later, he’s not on any lists. He needs to get back in the limelight – he needs … a Cause. With the help of uber-publicist Whimberly North, Matthew channels his talents toward the common good and heads off to a small South American village to meet the Chimborazzi tribe and save their alpacas. Now, if only there wasn’t so much dirt in Ecuador…"
What a terrific marketing idea to advertise the play!! You can read more about the play and how to order tickets here.
I think we should definitely get a group of knitters and crocheters together to stitch in the audience before seeing the play! The website also has a section with merchandise. The tote bag is a perfect gift for your favorite yarny person! The show runs from September 8th thru October 18th.
I can definitely see lots of beautiful, soft alpaca yarn piled high in this totebag!
