Every successful TV series usually comes up with a breakout star , someone heretofore relatively unknown.

Josh Dallas will certainly qualify for that, but I have a feeling that -- after this episode, as well as others -- Meghan Ory might see an impressive rise in her star meter.

TV Ratings Sunday: 'Once Upon A Time,' 'Good Wife,' 'Harry's Law' At Lows, As ABC Tops The Night

    Written By Bill Gorman

    March 12th, 2012

    CITAZIONE
ABC's Once Upon A Time ratings may have been whacked by Daylight Saving Time, its 2.8 adults 18-49 rating was a series low, down 18% vs. a 3.4 rating last week. Desperate Housewives was even with last week's 2.5 adults 18-49 rating. ABC's GCB rose to a 2.3 adults 18-49 rating, vs. a 2.2 rating for its series premiere last week. ABC topped the nights adults 18-49 ratings.

Last night, on average, 36.7% of US adults 18-49 were watching TV during primetime vs. 38.7% last Sunday. Was it Daylight Saving Time? (8pm hour only: 33.9% on 3/4, and 30.1% on 3/11)

CBS's Amazing Race was even with last week's 2.8 adults 18-49 rating. The Good Wife's 1.7 adults 18-49 rating was a series low down 11% vs. a 1.9 rating last week. CSI: Miami was even with last week's 2.1 adults 18-49 rating.

Fox's The Cleveland Show had a 1.6 adults 18-49 rating, up a tenth vs. a 1.5 rating last week. The Simpsons dipped to a 2.3 adults 18-49 rating, down 8% vs. a 2.5 rating last week. The season two premiere of Bob's Burgers had a 1.9 adults 18-49 rating, down 10% vs a 2.1 rating in its season one finale in May, 2011. Family Guy was even with last week's 2.8 adults 18-49 rating. American Dad rose a tenth to a 2.2 adults 18-49 rating, vs. a 2.1 rating last week.

The move of NBC's Harry's Law to Sunday was no improvement, its 1.1 adults 18-49 rating matched its series low from its last miod-January Wednesday outing. Multiple TVBTN mentions this week both by Kathy Bates and the director of Harry's Law. Fortunately it's better to be known than loved in our business. Celebrity Apprentice's 2.0 adults 18-49 rating between 9-11p was down 13% vs. a 2.3 rating last week. Earlier, Dateline NBC had a 0.9 adults 18-49 rating, vs. a 1.0 rating last week.

In my opinion this episode was better than last week's, which had higher ratings. The twist(s) at the end were really good. I had to re-watch the part when Granny revealed that Ruby was the Big Bad Wolf b/c I missed it!

You know, I think Meghan definitely looks the part (both of them actually ;-) but I'm not terribly impressed with her acting. She is beautiful though, and that will get you a long way in Hollywood ;-)

Last night's episode was fantastic and I didn't see the twists coming either. I can't believe how much the ratings dropped from one week to the next! Hopefully this week was just an anomaly and the ratings improve next weekend. :)

Agreement here on all points. I don't know if that theory about the change to daylight savings time (in America) is relevant, but the show still garnered an impressive "8 share" in the important 18-49 demographic, and I don't think any other show did better than that. Fingers crossed that it will rebound with some very exciting episodes coming through the pipeline. ^_^

Yup, another clever episode from the creative mind of Jane Espenson. I also had to replay the episode several times to pick up on all of the entertaining threads.

And, yes, I was referring to MO's rather stunning beauty more than anything else. She will get more offers as a result of this show; but, of course, I want to see our beautiful Jennifer get movie scripts, magazine covers, commercial offers from cosmetic and hair treatment firms, and loads more interviews, too! :D
